Colonel Panic is a 24-year-old guy from New Orleans, LA who occasionally has some free time. When he's not working at a building automation company as an application engineer, he reads Fark and about 100 different blogs every day, plays Wii, designs websites, photoshops pictures of local news anchors, and drinks and smokes. In between all of that, he attempts to write lyrics and "lay down phat beats." The result of his lack of rhythm and his being tone-deaf is some nerdcore-ish hip-hop that is sometimes entertaining to listen to.
That's about the short and skinny of it.

New Website

Yeah, I got a little bored while I'm home recovering from my stomach virus. It's simpler and altogether a better website.
I went with a single-page design since there wasn't a lot of content. There's the added bonus of a Flash MP3 player to stream the EP, plus there's a link below it to download a ZIP file of all four songs, plus the album art.
As for new music, I have a verse written and a beat started, so, we'll see. I'm working on some other projects. Well, really only one, but still, it's musically related and possibly something I can do to remind me of how awesome it is to write and perform.
Lemme know what you think of the site.

Dear Hard Drives --
1/10/2008 6:15:47 PM
Stop dying.
Love, CP
I lost both external hard drives due to cheap, poorly-ventilated CompUSA enclosures and as a reuslt lost all of my GarageBand files for all my music. Rome has most of them, but all the random unfinished stuff is gone. So, I'll have redo some stuff.
Or give up.
Either way, I'll fill something in here.

Unlikely Rapper - The Do-Over

Or "Doover" as MySpace changed it
I've tweaked the lyrics and re-recorded the vocals and replaced the chorus synth for “Unlikely Rapper.” I think it's far better than the original demo I put out. Obviously, it's not perfect because I'm a shitty rapper, but enjoy this one more than you enjoyed the last one.
More do-overs on the way.
More do-overs on the way.
The Game Plan
6/18/2007 8:00:56 PM
So, I have a few beats half-finished. I have lyrics half-finished. I've decided to hold off on new tracks while I re-record vocals for “Unlikely Rapper” and “Commutin'” and “All Them Broads” as well as rework the music for “All Them Broads” and possibly “Commutin'.” Once I clean up those three songs, I have about three more new songs in the works, one with an a capella beat, and I also have a Cake cover in the works.
Stay tuned!

Quick Update

First off, I added in a commenting system to the blog. I never copied it over from the Frisbee source folder I have. Frisbee is my own blogging software. It's not as robust as something like WordPress, but it gets the job done.
Secondly, I have a few new tracks in the works, one of which is a cover song that I'll (hopefully) have some collaboration on. It'll be interesting.
